The Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run History
by Dana Miller
Welcome to my humble attempt to chronicle some of the Wasatch 100’s history! I’ll be the first to admit that I am not a historian. On the other hand, I’ve been hanging around Wasatch (in various states of fitness, celebration and dejection) since 1985 and have even managed to cross the finish line 20 times.
Wasatch has taken on more significance in my life than I can comprehend or care to admit. Especially looking back, I recognize that Wasatch always challenged me to find the inner strength to be my very best for those 20, 29 or even 34 hours. The lessons learned over 2263 race miles (that’s another story) have enriched virtually every aspect of my life.
I’ll do my best to capture an accurate (though quite personal) history of Wasatch, including the early days, its pioneers and legends. This will be a work in progress, with me sharing parts of the history as I get them ready.
